Street Invasion

NM House seeks to empower street-connected children in Cameroon by providing access to education, health, skills training, other forms of specialized solutions and a safe environment for growth and development.

GET THEM OFF THE STREETS

At the heart of NM House’s initiatives, we have developed a fundamental program known as “Street Invasion.” This unique program aims to bridge the gap between our dedicated team, volunteers, collaborators, partners, and other stakeholders with street-connected children. This is a gathering where we bring together friends, family, and many other people together to share their stories, ideas, and experiences with the homeless listen to their stories and connect with them through a series of engaging activities and events. Street Invasion serves as a platform to connect, recruit, train, establish, equip, and continually monitor and follow-up with street-connected children, creating a continuous cycle of support and empowerment.

Sports and Soft Skill Development

One of the key components of Street Invasion is the integration of sports, primarily football, as a means to encourage the development of essential soft skills among street-connected children. Access to football opens doors for children to enhance their coordination, communication, and leadership abilities. We believe that by honing these skills, children can build self-confidence, improve teamwork, and increase their chances of success in various aspects of life.

INFORMAL EDUCATION

Street Invasion provides street-connected children with access to comprehensive support. Through the program, they receive nutrition and medical care, participate in arts and crafts, dance and musical competitions, and benefit from clinical psychologist interventions. These activities not only provide holistic care but also fulfil their basic needs, fostering their well-being and development.

Pathways to Success

The Street Invasion initiative serves as a powerful platform for recruiting youths and young adults for NM House’s programs and partnerships. We not only focus on empowering street-connected children at present but also aim to equip them with valuable skills for a sustainable future. Through entrepreneurship support, life skills development, vocational training, and job placement, we empower them to become self-sufficient and contribute to society.

Collaboration and Partnerships

Street Invasion thrives on collaboration and partnerships. We actively seek collaboration with local communities, businesses, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to maximize our impact. By leveraging resources, knowledge, and networks, we create a supportive ecosystem that strengthens our initiatives, creates sustainable solutions, and fosters lasting change.
